Clove Astrology App
App privacy notice
This notice explains how GHOSTPROBE LTD handles personal information when you use the Clove Astrology mobile application and its related services. The product is displayed as 蒜占 in Chinese and 산점 in Korean.
Effective date: 24 August 2026
1. Who we are
GHOSTPROBE LTD is the operator and data controller for the personal information described in this notice. We are a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 17267835. Our registered office is 124 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX.
Privacy questions and requests may be sent to info@ghostprobe.co.uk with “Privacy request” in the subject line.
2. Scope
This notice covers the Clove Astrology mobile application, account services, readings, reports, follow-up conversations, purchases, support and related server features. Our separate company website privacy notice covers visits to ghostprobe.co.uk and ordinary company email enquiries.
3. Information we process
- Account and contact information: email address, display name, username, password hash, avatar and optional profile information.
- Authentication information: email verification status, consent records and identifiers supplied when you choose Sign in with Apple or Google.
- Birth and profile information: date and time of birth, time zone, selected birthplace, approximate coordinates derived from that place, gender or profile labels, and saved person profiles.
- Reading content: questions, selected reading options, chart or divination inputs, follow-up messages, generated reports and history records.
- Images and text input: photos you choose for palm or face readings and text produced when you use voice input. The App does not use your device’s live location to determine your birthplace. Raw microphone recordings are not intentionally stored by our service as reading content.
- Purchases and entitlements: product identifiers, transaction identifiers, purchase and refund status, digital-credit balances and entitlement history. We do not receive your full payment-card or bank-account details.
- Usage and diagnostics: features opened, reading and purchase-flow events, timestamps, App and device information, error and task diagnostics, network information and IP address.
- Security and anti-abuse information: account, visitor and device-linked security signals used to protect accounts, prevent fraud and enforce introductory-benefit limits.
- Support information: messages, attachments and contact details you provide when requesting help or submitting feedback.
4. How we obtain information
Most information is provided directly by you when you register, create a profile, request a reading, upload an image, make a purchase or contact support. Authentication providers and app stores provide limited account or transaction information when you choose their services. Technical, security and usage events are generated when the App and service operate.
5. Why we use information
- To create and secure accounts and preserve your reading history.
- To calculate charts, generate requested readings and answer follow-up questions.
- To process, verify and recover purchases and digital entitlements.
- To provide customer support and respond to privacy requests.
- To prevent abuse, duplicate introductory benefits, fraud and unauthorised access.
- To diagnose failures, measure product use and improve reliability and usability.
- To keep appropriate records and comply with legal obligations.
6. Lawful bases
Where UK data protection law applies, we process information as necessary to perform our contract with you, to take steps you request before entering into that contract, to comply with legal obligations and for legitimate interests in securing, supporting and improving the service. We rely on consent where required, including for optional device permissions and information you choose to provide for a personalised reading. You may withdraw a permission or consent through device or account controls, although doing so may prevent the related feature from working.
7. Service providers and sharing
We disclose only the information reasonably needed to categories of service providers that help us operate the App, including cloud hosting and storage, automated content processing, authentication, app-store payments, email delivery, product analytics, diagnostics and customer support. We may also disclose information to professional advisers or public authorities where reasonably necessary or legally required.
Providers acting on our behalf must handle information under contractual or legal protections appropriate to their role. Apple, Google and other independent platform providers also process information under their own privacy terms when you use their services. We do not sell personal information and do not use personal information for third-party behavioural advertising.
8. Automated content
The App uses automated systems to calculate charts and generate astrology, destiny-analysis and divination content for entertainment and self-reflection. This processing does not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. Important medical, legal, financial, educational, employment or relationship decisions should not be based solely on an App reading.
9. International transfers
Information may be processed in the United Kingdom and in other countries where our service providers operate. Where a restricted international transfer is governed by UK data protection law, we use an applicable adequacy regulation, approved contractual protection or another lawful transfer mechanism. You may contact us for further information about the safeguards relevant to your information.
10. Retention
- Account, profile, reading and report information is normally retained while your account or associated history remains active and as needed to provide recovery and support.
- Uploaded images are retained only as needed to provide, display and recover the associated reading. When associated content or an account is permanently deleted, active records and access links are removed. Residual copies in restricted private storage or backups may remain until storage-cleanup and backup-rotation processes complete, and are not used for normal product access.
- Verification records, transient security data and unsuccessful task data are kept for limited operational periods.
- Purchase, refund, fraud-prevention and accounting records may be retained for the periods required by law, app-store rules and legitimate anti-abuse needs.
- Security, diagnostic and usage records are retained according to their operational purpose and are periodically deleted or aggregated.
When you request account deletion, the account is disabled and enters a 24-hour cooling-off period during which signing back in can restore it. After that period, active account records are scheduled for permanent deletion. Limited one-way identity fingerprints and benefit-use records may be retained to prevent repeated abuse of introductory offers. Restricted backup copies may remain until ordinary backup rotation and are not restored for normal product use.
11. Your choices and rights
You can review and update profile information, delete supported history, change device permissions and request account deletion through the App. Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may also have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, and the right to withdraw consent.
To exercise a right, email info@ghostprobe.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Legal exceptions may apply, including where records must be retained for purchases, fraud prevention or legal claims.
12. Children
The service is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 16. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Users under 18 should use the service with permission and guidance from a parent or guardian where required.
13. Security
We use measures designed to protect personal information, including encrypted transport, password hashing, access controls, private storage and monitoring appropriate to the service. No electronic service can guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong password, protect your device and never send passwords or verification codes to support.
14. On-device storage and permissions
The App uses on-device storage for authentication, language and recovery state. Camera, photo-library, microphone or speech-recognition access is requested only when needed for a feature you choose. You can change these permissions in iOS Settings. Disabling a permission affects only the feature that requires it.
15. Complaints
If you are in the United Kingdom, you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Information is available at ico.org.uk. Users elsewhere may have the right to contact their local data-protection authority. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
16. Changes
We may update this notice when the App, our providers or applicable law changes. The effective date identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented through the App or another appropriate channel before they take effect where required.
